The 2nd annual Taste of East Austin 5K at Whisper Valley is coming up on Saturday, Sept. 28! This fun event features a 5K in the Whisper Valley community followed by a family-friendly festival featuring music, fun activities and food available for purchase. Read on to learn more about this fun Austin 5K and how to register!

What is the Taste of East Austin 5K?

The Taste of East Austin 5K is a 3.1-mile fun run that takes place in Whisper Valley, an eco-conscious master-planned community located off SH 130 along East Braker Lane. A portion of proceeds from the event will benefit the Central Texas Food Bank.

Beginning at the Whisper Valley Discovery Center, the race will begin at 9 a.m. The 5K will take runners through the beautiful Whisper Valley community and will end with drinks at the finish line (for runners 21+).

How Do I Register?

Registration is now open online! Online registration is open until September 27, 2019, however, in order to qualify for Early Bib Pick-Up, you will need to register by September 21, 2019.

Registration fees are $35 for the public and $25 for Whisper Valley homeowners.

Will the Race be Timed?

Yes! This run is professionally timed by raceTimerz, LLC and each runner will have an opportunity to receive a finish-line photo that will be posted on raceTimerz’s Facebook page. Awards will be given to the top 3 male and top 3 female runners for the race.

What is There to Do After the 5K?

Following the 5K, we’ll have a free and family-friendly festival until 1 p.m. featuring music, kids activities, food and beverage available for purchase, and more!
